DIRECTOR, DWP BOARD
Dancing with Parkinson’s (DWP) is looking for individuals with expertise in the arts, fundraising and donor relations, non-profit administration and law, board governance, or marketing to join our Board of Directors. The volunteer director will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight to our organization. This individual will collaborate with fellow board members, staff, and stakeholders to advance DWP’s mission and objectives.
Term: 1 Year.
Role:
Ability to dedicate 2-3 hours per month to fulfill board responsibilities including bi-monthly board meetings, committee meetings, events, and activities.
Offer expertise, insights, and perspectives to board discussions and decision-making processes.
Actively support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and stewardship.
Represent DWP to stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and the community.
Act as an ambassador for DWP, advocating for our mission and objectives in the community.
Experience/Skills Required:
Strong commitment to DWP’s mission, values, and goals.
Prior experience on a non-profit board or other related governance experience with knowledge of best practices and legal requirements, particularly in Ontario, Canada.
Fundraising experience is a definite asset.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others towards a common vision.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
